Cheese Maker, Studio Makkink & Bey

Made in collaboration with craftspeople in India, Studio Makkink & Bey's totem cheese maker contains every tool needed to make cheese: a juicer, milk jug, spoon, pan, colander, cutting board, bowl, cheesecloth and press. Each component is made of a different material.

The piece draws inspiration from the similarities between lifestyle and culture in the Netherlands and India - including the long history of ceramic craft, the passion for hand-making cheese and the use of stacking for both houses and housewares, which all permeate both country's cultures.

Cheese Maker will be launched at Ventura Lambrate during Milan Design Week next week. For more food toolkits, Homebuildlife subscribers can read our food & tabletop report on DIY Food Kits.
