RISK and RESPOND
Challenge:
- Using only newspaper, masking tape, clear packing tape, plastic bags and string/thread/rope/wire/yarn/chain construct a three-dimensional structure that can be suspended from the ceiling. May use one or all of the materials.
- Ideas about color/tone should be developed into the overall concept of the piece. No limits on how to apply color or how much color.
- Final solution must have height, width and depth.
- Height should be at least 5'.
COLLECT and DISPLAY
Challenge:
- Use no more than a total four (4) materials to create a collection of 10 objects. Note that different colors of one material count as separate materials. For example, blue and red paint = 2 materials.
- Size of objects can vary.
- Design and construct a free standing form to display/hold/contain 10 sculptures. Materials for display are your choice and not limited.
- There needs to be a conceptual relationship between the 10 objects and the free standing form.
LOOK and LISTEN
Challenge:
- Create a sculpture that incorporates sound.
- Materials are your choice.
EXPOSE and COMMENT
Challenge:
- Content of this sculpture will explore a social issue and express your opinion toward the issue.
- Materials are your choice.
